Brand managers work to ensure that a brand remains recognisable, up to date and exciting to customers. Brand managers plan ways to promote – and change the public perception of – brands. Organisations hire brand managers to work ‘in-house’ on their own brands, where it is likely that they will work solely on a single brand. Brand managers are also responsible for making sure that branding is consistent across advertising and campaigns. Brand managers focusing on maintaining the relationship with potential partners and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out market research in order to keep up to date with customer trends, as well as trying to predict future trends
- Align with the design team about the design and visual direction and develop custom marketing strategies across all platforms
- Brief communication team for all communication assets, blog posts and articles
- Making decisions about the cost of branding – align with general manager to manage P/L
- Building relationships with partners, vendors, malls, retailers, influencers, journalists and media outlets
- Measure and report performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess ROI and KPIs
- Overseeing social media accounts and ensure brand consistency
- Conducting meetings with clients, potential partners
- Organising production work and related marketing activities i.e. events such as product launches, exhibitions and photo shoots
- Monitor product distribution and consumer reactions
- Contributes to the annual brand planning process.
- Sets brand planning calendar
- Coordinates cross-functional activities and planning processes
- Manages timelines, and ensures timely completion of all deliverables.
