Stonegoat | Indoor Bouldering / Climbing Gym
Stonegoat: Building a friendly climbing community in Bangkok
Stonegoat Climbing Gym is the place to be, encapsulating fun times, bond, and share a bouldering experience.

Our story
Stonegoat started when two avid climbers met in January 2019. Sontayed Asavahame (Sont), a renowned Thai athlete and a professional routesetter was looking for a partner to open his bouldering gym. He found out that Justin Tharnthong (Justin), a retired software developer with 10+ years of experience and a long-time climber, shared the same dream.

The pair decided to craft a bespoke bouldering gym featuring an open and inclusive feel, with friendly and diverse routes that will delight beginner and expert climbers. Between Sont’s knowledge in route-setting and Justin’s technical skills from his past work, they had a match made in heaven.

The missing piece of the puzzle was a place to construct a gym. After viewing an abandoned warehouse on Soi Sukhumvit 69 in October 2020, the pair fell in love with the location. Though there was a lot of work to be done, the two committed to the place and put in the labor to flip the old structure around and revamp it into a whole new bouldering gym.

A culmination of effort 2 years later, Stonegoat Climbing Gym was born on the first week of July 2021.

Role Summary
The Creative Manager is responsible for leading Stonegoat’s Creative Department as an internal creative studio that supports both commercial and operational departments.

This role combines strategic thinking, creative leadership, and hands-on execution. The position requires the ability to think at a brand and business level with the BoD and MD, while still being deeply involved in day-to-day content creation.

Approximately 30% of the role is hands-on production, ensuring continuity, quality, and speedβ€”even when team members are unavailable or workloads spike.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Creative Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead, coach, and develop:
      • Content Creator (Video & Photo)
      • Graphic Designer
      • Copywriter (if required in future)
    • Assign work, set creative direction, and review outputs.
    • Ensure the team delivers consistent quality, tone, and visual identity.
    • Act as a player-coach: capable of stepping in to execute, not just delegate.
    • Build a culture of:

      • When fast turnaround is required
      • For high-visibility or sensitive content
  3. Cross-Department Creative Support (Core Function)

    • Office & Corporate Teams
      • HR: internal announcements, employer branding, employee handbook, recruitment visuals
      • Accounting & Procurement: presentation templates, visual aids
      • BoD & Management: pitch decks, reports, visual storytelling
      • Company-wide: letterheads, internal documents, brand templates
    • The Creative Department is positioned as a service function, but this role must help stakeholders shape and clarify their requests, not simply execute vague asks.
  4. Strategic Brainstorming & Planning
    • Participate in regular brainstorming sessions with:

    • Coordinate with Project Manager to maintain visibility on:
      • What’s being worked on
      • What’s blocked
