Job Summary:
As an Strategic Planning Manager, you bring a strong and evolving strategic perspective to client challenges, with growing expertise across key industries. You are a valued contributor in both strategic and creative discussions, uncovering fresh ways to frame brand opportunities. Confident and authoritative in client settings, you lead major strategic planning initiatives and new business pitches. Recognized as a strategic leader within the agency, you’re a trusted advisor to peers and an emerging mentor to junior talent, often serving as the strategic anchor on critical brand projects and pitches.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Client Management
- Act as the primary strategic contact for clients, independently managing the strategic work and its delivery.
- Lead strategic projects in close collaboration with account teams, ensuring alignment with client objectives and timelines.
- Developing a deep understanding of the client’s business model and challenges, offering solutions that extend beyond communications to broader business impact.
- Strategy
- Build campaign and communications strategies that are rooted in brand and business goals.
- Lead the creation and delivery of insight-driven strategic presentations to clients.
- Guide the development of creative briefs, ensuring alignment between strategy and creative execution.
- Evaluate creative concepts, offering constructive, insight-based feedback to elevate the work.
- Drive the creation of integrated strategic platforms, with light guidance as needed.
- Contribute to and help shape creative channel strategies across touchpoints.
- Research & Insight
- Craft presentations that clearly articulate a compelling and persuasive strategic point of view.
- Identify research needs and methodologies, from tracking studies to qualitative techniques, and guide their execution.
- Analyze and synthesize data to inform strategy, distilling insights that are both actionable and inspirational.
- Develop an informed perspective on how brands are built in the evolving media landscape.
- Industry & Brand Knowledge
- Demonstrate deepening expertise across multiple client industries, with understanding of market dynamics, consumer behavior, and communication ecosystems.
- Apply diverse branding methodologies—from purpose-led positioning to archetype frameworks—to help build resonant brand narratives.
- Creative Leadership
- Support the development of creative ideas by providing trend analysis, case studies, and strategic context.
- Collaborate closely and flexibly with creative teams to produce impactful, insight-driven work.
- New Business & Innovation
- Play a leading role in developing the strategic portion of new business pitches.
- Contribute to workshop planning and facilitation, helping clients co-create solutions in collaborative sessions.
- Take an active role in developing case studies and award entries that reflect strategic impact.
- Team Leadership & Development
- Begin mentoring and guiding junior strategists, offering feedback and developmental support.
- Supervise project workstreams and support the strategic growth of team members.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration across departments to produce cohesive and effective strategies.
- Leadership Competencies
- Independently lead 2-3 strategic projects simultaneously.
- Construct compelling narratives that influence both internal teams and clients.
- Demonstrate strong leadership presence, strategic confidence, and the ability to foster long-term client relationships.
- Ready to lead strategic direction for key brands and own large-scale projects or pitches.
Education and Experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree or above, not limited to advertising major
- Proficiency in English reading skills
- More than 5-7 years of advertising or communication experience, with at least 4-5 years of experience in strategic areas of work
